In the spring of 1820, Joseph walked from his parent’s home to a grove of trees to pray. His humble prayer brought an appearance of the Father and Son and started a new dispensation of truth.
In 1831, the persecutions of the Saints in Palmyra had just begun. Joseph knew the persecution would only increase; so with sadness in his heart they prepared to leave for Kirtland, Ohio.

I could see Joseph pausing to look at the grove one last time. Remembering the moment when it all began.
