From Sandra's earliest memories the love of art, and the passion for painting and drawing have been a great influence in her life. Sandra grew up in a family of 8 children and the memories from her youth are deeply embedded in the emotions of her paintings today. Some of these memories include working in the family produce business, a grandfather nicknamed Johnny Appleseed, stories and teachings of pioneer ancestors, a homemade green house, pet chickens, lambs and the appreciation of beauty found in all the creations of the earth. Her subject matter and the emotions of her paintings are also greatly influenced by her deep love of family and the joys she discovered in being a mother. Her paintings are filled with symbolism and messages from her heart.
Sandra always excelled in art starting back in her grade school days which made majoring in art while attending Brigham Young University and the University of Utah an easy decision. While raising her 4 children and helping to support her family, Sandra took art classes and participated in painting groups to help feed the hunger she had for creating beautiful and uplifting art.
Sandra is a publisher, business woman, mentor and an artist. She is a wonderful mother who has been dedicated to her 4 children and is now experiencing the joy of grandchildren. She has a strong testimony and love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and this history is a huge influence in her paintings. She has been called the emotional painter, colorist and known as a realistic impressionist painter. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and she has received many awards.
